This page explains, in plain words, what Kinmat stores about you when you use usekinmat.com, why, who helps us run it, and how to have it deleted. Questions or requests: hello@usekinmat.com.
What we store
- When you sign up or request access: your name, work email, company and role, and any message you write.
- When you use Kinmat: the context you give us about your work (brand, category, countries, competitors, what you're deciding), the questions you ask, the answers you get, and what you save.
- To keep you signed in: a session cookie and a security cookie. No advertising cookies.
- Analytics, only if you accept: on our public pages we ask before loading Google Analytics, which uses cookies to tell us how people find and use the site. Decline and it never loads. Change your choice.
- Server logs: IP address and request details, kept briefly to keep the service secure and working.
Why
To give you access, send your sign-in codes, answer your questions with your context in mind, keep the service secure, and reply when you ask us something. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who helps us run it
- Hetzner hosts the servers and the database, in a data centre in the United States.
- Mailgun delivers sign-in codes and our replies.
- Anthropic processes the questions you ask, with your context, to write answers from the research. It does not use them to train its models.
- Google Analytics measures visits to our public pages, only if you accept it.
Hetzner's servers, Mailgun and Anthropic are in the United States, so your data leaves the EU. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
While your access lasts. Ask us and we delete your account, your context and your questions.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how we use it, by writing to hello@usekinmat.com. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
About the research
The interviews behind Kinmat were done with participants' consent. People using Kinmat never see participants' names, contact details or full transcripts; answers show short quotes with country and context only.
